Some 1,500 recorded versions exist of the Cinderella story, spanning every corner of the globe and dating back to the First Century, B.C. Ours is the classic fairy tale version from our childhood, complete with the disdainful and cruel stepmother; the silly and selfish stepsisters; the idealistic Prince in search of true love; the kind and motherly Queen; the comical but practical King; the magical Fairy Godmother; and the poor, ill-treated stepchild who, through strength of character, integrity and perseverance, finds her prince and the life she truly deserves. With the dazzling music and lyrics of Rogers and Hammerstein, this enchanting musical will delight audience members of all ages. One can’t help but be inspired by the brave and noble heroine who proves that, if you wish hard enough and believe in your dreams, “impossible things are happening every day!”
