Auditions for Cinderella will be held on Saturday, October 18 and Sunday, October 19, 2008, in Naperville at the Alfred Rubin Riverwalk Community Center, located at the N.W. corner of Eagle and Jackson Streets (enter from upper level). Auditions for actors in the fourth grade through age 15 will be held on Saturday and Sunday from 1:00-2:30. Auditions for actors age 16 and above will be held on Saturday and Sunday from 2:30-4:00. Call backs, if necessary, will be held on Monday, October 20th, at 7:00pm.
All roles in this production require singing, dancing and acting. All those auditioning will be required to sing and dance. For the singing portion, a selection from the Rodgers and Hammerstein version of “Cinderella” is preferred; however, a song from another musical demonstrating your vocal range and ability is also acceptable. If you choose to sing a selection from another show, you must supply the sheet music. An accompanist will be provided. Please wear appropriate clothing and shoes for the dance/movement portion of the audition. Those auditioning for a lead role will be asked to read from the script – cuttings will be available for perusal prior to entering the audition room. Those auditioning for Ensemble roles may be given a short reading to demonstrate acting ability. Please see the Character Descriptions for all available roles.
Rehearsals will generally be scheduled for Tuesday and Wednesday evenings and Sunday afternoons. Mondays will be added for the month of December. Please bring all conflicts for rehearsals to the audition. Character descriptions are available at the Magical Starlight website at: www.MagicalStarlightTheatre.org. Ten performances will be presented: January 9-11, 16-18, and 23-25, 2009. Performances are held at the Naperville Central High School Auditorium.
